MA_SandwichCars - 22

J. K. Lilly III Automobile Museum at Heritage Museum & Gardens in Sandwich, MA This 1922 Ford-Howe Pumper (fire truck) is actually built on a 1922 Model T chassis. As most factory-type fire engine conversions were on truck chassis, this vehicle is very rare and may well be the sole Howe pumper on a Ford Model T passenger car in existence. Has a 4-cylinder flathead engine, 20hp. The museum had about 100 excellent older cars in it (mostly pre-1950s), but this was one of the neatest. (07/23/2004)
