WY_YStoneOFBasin - 16

Taken at Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, in the "Old Faithful" geyser basin, this is called "Morning Glory Pool". It used to be even more "glorious" (a more brilliant blue), but people seem to think it's cool to throw things into it (coins, rocks), which has gradually clogged up its underground "plumbing". Despite the many signs saying not to throw things in, workers still remove several hundred pounds of coins, etc every year. (08/22/2004)
