Heritage Museum & Gardens in Sandwich, MA This is the Old East Mill (built in 1800), which has passed through several owners and been moved twice. During the first move in 1819, it was dismantled and carried by an ox team across the town of Orleans, to bring it closer to grain-producing areas and boat landing sites. In fall of 1968 it was dismantled again and driven from Orleans to Heritage Plantation, which took ten days to complete. (07/23/2004)
