Series: 2 of 15. Cruise to Alaska on the "Serenade of the Seas" (Royal Caribbean). Taken on the third day (second full day) of the cruise, at the indescribable Hubbard Glacier. This is the second of fifteen pictures capturing "calving" of the glacier, which is where a large chunk of glacial ice breaks off and falls into the ocean This series includes pictures of the large wave it created. To give perspective, the piece that broke off was probably around 100-150 feet wide. (09/07/2004)
