Cruise to Alaska on the "Serenade of the Seas" (Royal Caribbean). Taken on the fourth day of the cruise, while on the "Helicopter Glacier Trek" excursion, where we hiked for several hours on Mendenhall Glacier, where we were taken by helicopter. (09/09/2004) Looking back down at the helicopter landing site, this gives some perspective of the enormity of Mendenhall Glacier: There's another helicopter and two groups of people towards the center of this picture, almost too small to see. Also, some of the crevasses on the right-hand side of the picture are 200+ feet deep. Others elsewhere are over 500.
