Inside The Old North Church in Boston, MA. Note the four cherubs in front of the organ.
A marble plaque elsewhere in the church states "Thomas James Gruchy, Junior Warden of the Church and Merchant adventurer from Jersey who in parlous times as Captain of the Privateer Queen of Hungary took from a French ship in the year 1746 the four figures of cherubim now in front of the organ." The signal lanterns of Paul Revere, displayed in the steeple of this church on April 18, 1775, warned the country of the march of the British troops to Lexington and Concord. (07/26/2004)
