Taken along the Oregon coast, at the site of the Yaquina Head lighthouse. These are tide pools at the shoreline below the lighthouse, which contain their own ecosystem, with starfish, sea anenome, hermit crabs, and other marine life. This is a very, very close-up shot of a hermit crab. He's facing away from the camera, and was only about 1.5 inches long. (09/27/2004)
